EXCURSIONS
We have prepared two excursions, provided with
an English-speaking guide.
Monasteries and churches of Sumadija
One-day excursion by bus; lunch included;
departure at 8.00 from Sava Centre.
Sumadija is the central region of Serbia, also
known as the heart of Serbia. The history of this region is mostly
connected to the first big uprising against the Ottoman Empire in
1804, when Djordje Petrovic- Karadjordje (Turkish for “Black
Djordje”) was chosen as the leader of the uprising. He’s also the
founder of the Karadjordjevic Dinasty that ruled Serbia up to the
Second World War. Monasteries, churches and historical places
included in this tour are mainly connected to this dynasty.
